Happy World Urdu Day

Today we celebrate the Urdu language, spoken by nearly 70MM people in the world as their first language, and 100MM+ as a second language. Speakers are pre-dominantly found in Pakistan and India.

The date was chosen to honor Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, a philosopher, poet, and master of the Urdu language who infused spiritual and nationalistic themes into his works.
