Taiwan to Launch its Version of UK's HPI: Top 200 University Graduates Qualify

#high#potential#allow

A few weeks back Taiwan approved its own version of the UK'S High Potential Individual Visa (I wrote about this previously here). Like its British counterpart, Taiwan's Visa targets entrepreneurs, nomads, or just those figuring things out with a little bit of savings built up because they:

  • are valid for 2 years
  • allow you to look for work
  • allow you to freelance
  • allow you to be self-employed

The hope is that graduates from a good school are likely to contribute positively to the country, while also recognizing that the job market is a bit rocky at the moment. Getting high potential people in the door and then giving them 2 years to find a job is a fantastic way to try and boost high-skilled labor.

Unlike the UK, the TW gov't has yet to publish the official list of 200 universities.
